Commonality: A Path to Change

Almost everyone has been a student at some stage—whether in high school, college, or another learning environment. During that time, we often had a space to relax, discuss, and share ideas beyond our daily routine. It was a place where different opinions coexisted under the same roof.

What is Commonality?
At its core, commonality means sharing attributes and features. In the context of human nature, we all possess certain similarities.

Do We Share the Same Nature?
Yes—at least in some aspects. Consider these examples:

  • We may lie for personal gain, yet we are inherently drawn to truth, which fosters trust.
  • We often judge others harshly while expecting love, care, and kindness for ourselves.
This duality highlights an uncomfortable truth: hypocrisy is a part of human nature. However, we have the power to change it.

From Hypocrisy to Authenticity
Transformation begins at the individual level. By choosing truth over deception and kindness over judgment, we contribute to a shift from hypocrisy to authenticity. This change, in turn, fosters peace.

The World Today
Conflict isn’t just fought with weapons—it happens through words and actions, hurting one another in countless ways. What fuels this? The common thread of hypocrisy we all carry.

But here’s something to consider: Isn’t it time to focus on the positive commonalities we share?

A Call for Change
Instead of division, let’s embrace what unites us—our shared potential for goodness. By working for peace, being compassionate, and upholding humanity, we can replace negativity with something far more powerful: unity.

The Historical Significance of Palestine: From First Temple to Hazrat Musa (A)

Palestine in the Time of Hazrat Musa (AS): A Divine Test and a Cosmic Shift The story of Palestine begins with Hazrat Musa (AS) and Bani Israel. After their escape from Pharaoh's oppression in Egypt, the Israelites wandered in the wilderness for forty years due to their disobedience. According to Islamic tradition and Jewish scripture, Allah had promised them a blessed land—Palestine—if they remained steadfast in faith and obedience. However, when ordered to enter the land, they refused out of fear of its inhabitants, leading to their prolonged wandering in the desert (Al-Ma'idah: 21-26). Only after the passing of that generation did their successors, under the leadership of Prophet Yusha (AS) (Joshua), enter the promised land. One unique aspect often overlooked is how this period of wandering reshaped not only the faith but also the identity of Bani Israel. The delay in entering Palestine was not merely a punishment—it was a divine transition where a new generation, unshackled...

Freedom vs Free Will

Look at the image above. What do you see? At first glance, it’s obvious—two birds flying away from a cage they were once locked in. But I see it in two ways: The First Perspective The birds were trapped in the cage until someone—perhaps their owner—opened the door, setting them free. Now, they can go wherever they wish, carried by the wind. The sky is vast and open, but even it has limits. Birds, like all creatures, have their own range; their flight is not infinite. Even freedom comes with boundaries. The Second Perspective Perhaps the cage was never locked—its door left open all along. The birds had a choice: to stay, to leave, or to return after exploring. The decision was entirely theirs. What’s Common in Both? Freedom and Free Will. The First Perspective: Freedom Misunderstood Society creates cages—rules, expectations, restrictions. When someone is confined for too long, sudden freedom can feel overwhelming. Like the birds carried by the wind, we may mistake absolute freedom as h...
