Freedom vs Free Will

Look what you see in the picture above?
It's obviously... Two birds flying away from a cage they were locked in. But I see it in two ways...

The first one... The birds were stuck in the cage and somebody or their master opened the cage and set them free , so they can go wherever they want and do whatever they like. The sky is open and vast place with air. Air takes you wherever it wants, but remember these birds also have a hight limit to fly... And it varies bird to bird. For them even sky comes with limits.

The second one... Maybe the master has put them in that cage but with its door open. It is for birds, to decide... Will they fly? Or will they stay? Or will they come back to that cage after flight.

What's so common in both explanations?
Freedom and Free Will!
Let's see how...?

The first one... There are some man made rules or cages that we built around ourselves. What happens as a result? When we are freed after being caged for so long, we go with the directions just like the air in the sky. We don't realize there still are some laws of nature. We take that freedom for granted!

"You are born free and you spend your life being a slave to your own false truths." Atticus

And about the second one...
It comes with cage, but with open choices. Nature allows man to go wherever one wants. It's on man to choose.

"Freedom is not the right to choose anything it's the right to choose correct thing." Unknown

It's all about when or where to choose for your freedom...

Drawing a fine conclusion to both... I see that every thing in this world has boundaries, you just don't have to go beyond that. Be it man made or nature. You may explore, you are free to do it, that's "Freedom" , a birth right. But not going beyond the boundaries and working within them efficiently, that's "Free Will", the freedom to choose between right and wrong. And for that, man is gifted with "Brain".

It is simple yet elegant.More profound on many levels. One can easily elaborate it to many situations we face in our lives.Choices and consequences are explained really good metaphorically.
